Bonding is a safe, effective and painless procedure to fill or repair spaces, chips or other tooth irregularities. In bonding, a tooth-colored material (composite) is applied to the tooth. This is the same material that is also commonly used in fillings.,
How is bonding performed?
After cleaning, rinsing and drying your tooth, the composite material is gently dabbed into place. A special light is used to harden (cure) the composite so it stays securely attached to your tooth. You will be given sunglasses to wear to protect your eyes during this part of the procedure. The bonded material is then shaped and smoothed so that it looks like a natural tooth surface. Bonded tooth repairs are nearly undetectable and can last for several years.
